Dear Ajax Rod and Gun Club Members,
The Board of Directors recently had a productive and encouraging meeting with the Conservative campaign director for our region. We spoke candidly about what’s at stake in this election, and one message came through loud and clear: The future of our sport is in your hands.
A Liberal government has made its intentions clear, further restrictions will threaten not only our firearms but the very existence of clubs like ours. This election is about more than politics; it’s about defending our way of life.
This vote isn’t just about names on a ballot, it’s about leadership, values, and ensuring that our sport continues to thrive in Canada for us and for future generations.
We urge every member to take this opportunity seriously get out and vote and support the candidates who stand with us.
To make it easier, we’ve included contact information for local candidates below. Reach out, get involved, and make a difference.
Together, let’s stand up for our community, our rights, and the legacy of responsible firearms ownership and tradition.
Sincerely,
Board of Directors
The Ajax Rod and Gun Club

Here are brief job descriptions for upcoming work required. Please note that door to door canvassing, phone canvassing and sign installation happens all day, every day. Of those, volunteers for canvassing are generally most important. Each campaign ensures all volunteers are well-fed!
Door-to-Door Canvasser
Overview:
Door-to-door canvassers are the face of the campaign in the community. They engage directly with voters at their homes to identify supporters, persuade undecided voters, gather data, and promote the candidate or party’s platform. Their work is critical for building name recognition, trust, and voter insight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Knock on doors using a campaign-provided walk list (targeted list of voters)
- Engage voters in friendly, issue-based conversations
- Identify support levels (strong supporter, undecided, not supportive, etc.)
- Collect data in real time using the Conservative canvassing app, Engage (very simply to use)
Phone Canvasser
Overview:
Phone canvassers play a crucial role in voter outreach by engaging with supporters, persuadable voters, and the undecided over the phone. They help identify voter intent, persuade those on the fence, and gather key data to inform campaign strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make phone calls using the Conservative canvassing app, Engage (very simply to use)
- Engage voters in friendly, issue-based conversations
- Identify support levels (strong supporter, undecided, not supportive, etc.)
- Script can be provided to help volunteers start
Sign Installer
Overview:
Sign installers help increase visibility and name recognition by placing campaign signs in high-traffic and strategic locations. Their work supports both persuasion and GOTV efforts by reinforcing the campaign brand in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install lawn signs at supporter homes, businesses, and public-facing spaces (with permission)
- Maintain a sign route and track sign placements accurately
- Replace damaged or missing signs
- Both large and small signs available for installation
GOTV (Get Out the Vote) Canvasser
Overview:
GOTV Canvassers focus exclusively on driving turnout during the final days of the campaign, particularly on advance voting days and Election Day. Their role is not to persuade undecided voters but to mobilize identified supporters to get to the polls.
Advance Poll days are from April 18-21 (Easter weekend) and Election Day (April 28), and volunteers are needed!
Key Responsibilities:
- Knock on doors of known or likely supporters to encourage them to vote
- Hang door hangers on doors that remind supporters of where to vote
- Offer assistance (e.g., transportation or information on ID requirements)
Additional Notes:
- This role is mission critical in close races
- Often requires longer hours and multiple shifts per day in the final stretch
- Works closely with field organizers, staging location captains, and data teams
